Michael A. Dougherty, 68, of Burlington, New Jersey was taken to be with his Father in Heaven on April 2, 2024. Michael aka “Big Mike” was a long term resident of Burlington, New Jersey and Palm Harbor, Florida. He is survived by his brother David (Tracey) sons Michael and Anthony, daughter Kara, grandchildren Anthony, Vincent, Jordan, and Logan, and his much loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Sue and Francis, his sisters Catherine Raymond and Donna Abate, and his grandson Nicolas Lott. Mike was an accomplished licensed electrician, who completed many notable projects including Lakehurst Naval Base, MacDill Air Force Base, St. Petersburg Coast Guard, and Raymond James Stadium home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was an avid Tampa Bay and Philadelphia sports fan. Mike moved his family to Florida in the early 90’s. He enjoyed bike riding, basketball, music, and Gulf coast fishing. After a long day of work, you could catch big Mike driving in his Ford pick up truck with his windows down, listening to great music like George Thorogood, Kenny Rogers, or The Mamas & The Papas. Big Mike will be remembered for his outstanding work ethic, family dedication, faith, and quirky laugh. Services will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington on April 12, 2024 at 11am.
